Questionnaire to find out if you are carrying any of your ancestors’ emotions:
1. Did fear or any other emotion block you from moving forward?
2. Do you feel overwhelming and intense emotions that are out of proportion to what you are experiencing in your current life situation?
3. Do you feel closely connected to a specific ancestor who often struggles or struggled with any emotion?
4. Do you ever feel as if you are living a life that is not yours?
5. Do you have the same name as an ancestor that has (or had) difficulty dealing with his/her emotions?
If you answered Yes to any of these questions, you are probably carrying an emotion from an ancestor.
How does this happen?
People can pass down trauma to the succeeding generations. We are so grateful for our lives, that unconsciously we decide to heal what is pending or unprocessed in our Family System. We take on the emotions from our ancestors to help them heal.
How it affects us?
The problem with this is that we are not aware that we are doing this. If we are carrying an emotion for an ancestor, we easily feel blocked in our lives. We have difficulty accepting and processing the emotion because part of it is not ours… it is from our ancestors. This affects every aspect of our lives because we are experiencing an intense emotion that is not ours, so we feel confused and overwhelmed.
